We help your company in taking your performance to the next level. We help you in making smart choices. We do this through literature research or action research.
When do you conduct an investigation?
You make countless decisions every day. Some decisions you make immediately, others after a discussion with your team and others after a period of deliberation. How fact-based does your team work?
An example: engineers make no decisions about the design of a product without data. The same engineers decide without much facts and evidence about centralizing or decentralizing their organization. This example shows that the use of fact-based works is related to the degree of expertise that a person has about the decision to make (Dunning-Kruger, 1999).
Partly due to the groundbreaking work of Nobel Prize winner Daniel Kahneman, awareness is growing that people often act automatically, unconsciously and not logically. Managers and consultants also make most choices intuitively or based on personal experience.
A striking example
An example of how Evidence Based Practice can work in practice is medicine. Jacco Burgers writes in the NTVG that Evidence Based Medicine is developing into a realistic approach that combines the best forms of evidence:
- Evidence based: the standard indicates which treatment has been proven effective
- Practice based: what works in the experience of professionals
- Demand based: what does the patient want, what is important to him or her

Evidence based research
In a literature study, we map out which people in a field are considered experts and what the most important scientific articles are for a research question. We make a summary of classical and innovative insights. A literature search helps to understand an issue better, so you can discover how your organization can act more effectively.
In an action research we measure the effectiveness of a decision. Together with your organization we build knowledge about what works in your organization.
